Officers

Officers come in four types—Command, Engineering, Support, and Combat—and each ship can have one officer assigned to each of these roles. Officers contribute to a Battle Group’s overall strength through their stat modifiers, which are added to the ship’s total values. Both stats and officer skills can be improved by assigning Reserve Crew—unused officers of the same type and rarity. As officers are Enhanced or Augmented, the number of required Reserve Crew increases per level, and previously leveled officers can be used to fill multiple slots, with any excess crew refunded to the player.
Officer Rarity
The rarity of the officer determines several factors regarding skill and stat packages.
Uncommon Officers cannot be leveled up. Likewise they cannot be utilized for leveling up officers of higher rarity. They can only be slotted into ships for use, or retired (coming to a future spec: meaning deleted/sold) for currency.
Rare Officers can only have their stats leveled up, and therefore can only create stat packages for use in upgrading other rare officer stats. Rare Officers will not a have an Edit button in their Knowledge Base panel.
Epic and Legendary Officers can have both their stats and skills leveled up.
Reserve Crew Reserve Crew are unused officers that can be assigned to enhance the stats or skills of another officer through the Enhance or Augment systems. Only officers of the same rarity and type can be used as Reserve Crew. As upgrades increase in level, so does the number of required Reserve Crew slots. Players can also use previously Enhanced or Augmented officers as Reserve Crew, and their applied value carries over, helping to fill multiple slots at once. Any unused Reserve Crew from a transferred officer is refunded to the player's inventory.
Must match type and rarity of target officer
Used for Enhancing stats and Augmenting skills
Higher levels require more Reserve Crew
Upgraded officers fill multiple slots when used as crew
Extra crew is refunded after applying
Enhance (Stat Upgrades) Enhancing increases an officer’s stat values, directly boosting the total strength of the Battle Group they’re assigned to. Players enhance an officer by assigning Reserve Crew of the same type and rarity through the Enhance Menu. As levels increase, more Reserve Crew are needed. Using previously Enhanced officers will fill multiple slots based on the number of crew applied to them, with any excess refunded after the upgrade.
Increases officer stat modifiers
Requires same type & rarity Reserve Crew
Higher levels = more Reserve Crew slots
Previously Enhanced officers fill multiple slots
Extra crew refunded after applying
Augment (Skill Upgrades) Augmenting upgrades an officer’s skill, improving its impact during combat. The process mirrors Enhancement—players assign Reserve Crew of the same type and rarity using the Augment Menu. Each skill level requires more Reserve Crew slots. Previously Augmented officers can be used to fill multiple slots, and any remaining applied crew is returned to the player.
Improves officer skills
Uses same type & rarity Reserve Crew
Previously Augmented officers fill multiple slots
Skill Collection/Swapping Players can change an officer’s Active Skill using the “Change Skill” button, selecting from eligible skills collected through Augmentation. Only skills from the officer itself or its Reserve Crew used during Augmentation are available. Skills already applied elsewhere (as stat or skill packages) must be reset before they can be reassigned.
Only skills from the officer or its Augmentation Reserve Crew are eligible
Enhancement Reserve Crew do not provide skill options
Skills tied to other officers must be reset to become available again
Officer Removal and Stat Reset Players can remove Reserve Crew and reset officer progress using the “Unassign Crew” button. When tapped from the Enhance Menu, all Reserve Crew from both Enhance and Augment are returned, resetting the officer completely to level 0 in both systems. When tapped from the Augment Menu, only Augment-related Reserve Crew are refunded, and the officer’s Enhance level remains intact. Because Augment requires a matching Enhance level, players cannot maintain an Augment level without a corresponding Enhance level.
Unassign Crew (Enhance Menu): Fully resets both Enhance and Augment levels to 0
Unassign Crew (Augment Menu): Only resets Augment, leaving Enhance level intact
Augment requires Enhance: You can’t have Augment > 0 if Enhance = 0
Enhance & Augment Correlation Enhance and Augment systems are closely linked. Each level of Augment requires a matching or higher Enhance level, meaning players cannot Augment beyond the current Enhance level. However, officers can have a positive Enhance level without any Augmentation. This design ensures that skill upgrades are always backed by corresponding stat improvements.
Augment level cannot exceed Enhance level
Enhance can exist without Augment, but not vice versa
Enhancing is a prerequisite for each level of Augmentation
