# Improve Performance

As you progress in the game, there are several ways to improve your performance and give yourself an edge over opponents. By leveling up your ships, unlocking more powerful Strike Crafts, and upgrading abilities, you can build a more formidable fleet.<br>

**Level Up Ships**

Ships gain **XP** through combat, including battles with opponents and defeating **Enemy Patrols**. As a ship's XP increases, so does its level, improving its stats and effectiveness in combat.<br>

Additionally, you can upload **Schematics** to increase a ship's **Mastery Level**. Schematics, which can be obtained from Chapter rewards or found in your Inventory, significantly strengthen your ships, making them more powerful in battle.

**Unlock New Strike Craft**

The performance of your BattleGroup largely depends on the **Strike Crafts** you assign to it. Improving your BattleGroup’s strength is crucial for defeating opponents.

* **Upgrade Squadron Hubs:** Build and upgrade your Squadron Hubs to unlock more advanced Strike Craft. Higher-level Strike Crafts bring better combat capabilities.
* **Expand Your Fleet:** Assign more Strike Crafts to your BattleGroup to boost its combat effectiveness. The more Strike Crafts you have, the stronger your BattleGroup becomes.\ <br>

**Ship Abilities**

Unlocking and upgrading **Ship Abilities** in the **Ship Tech Tree** is another way to improve performance. Abilities can enhance your ships' combat effectiveness, providing significant advantages during battles.<br>

* **Upgrade Points:** You earn **Upgrade Points** as you increase your ships' levels and Mastery. Spend these points to unlock and enhance your Ship Abilities.

**Enemy Patrols**

Scattered across the map, **Enemy Patrols** are valuable targets for gaining Ship XP and extra rewards. Unlike standard tiles, you can attack these patrols without occupying them. However, higher-level patrols are more challenging, so ensure your BattleGroup is strong enough to handle them. Defeating these patrols provides more Ship XP, accelerating your ships' growth.

Improving your performance through these methods will ensure your BattleGroups stay competitive and ready to tackle the toughest challenges the game has to offer.
